Who we are?
Swiss Center Samara is a team of multicultural, industry and customer-oriented individuals, all passionate about Swiss-Russian relationships. We want to make a difference in the way our countries do business as we believe that there is a potential of cooperation which is largely untapped by Small and Medium Enterprises and organizations from both sides.
Our team gathers key competencies to deliver value to our customers: macro and micro-economy, industrial understanding, business analytics, financials, accounting, legal expertise, sales and marketing, international trade and entrepreneurship.
Our senior partners are experienced businessmen with bright carriers who bring their expertise, networks and wisdom to all our projects and customers on a daily basis. Their involvement ensures a continuity between the Swiss approach and the Russian reality.
Our company is run by Nicolas Waefler, a Swiss expatriate established in Samara since 2015. With an educational background in economy and company management, Nicolas sets Swiss standards in its approach to the Russian market and brings valuable experience acquired through the multiple challenges he faced in the development from scratch of the SCS in Samara.
You can either work with our Neuchâtel-based LLC, our daughter company in Samara, our representatives, in Swiss francs or in rubles, under Swiss or Russian jurisdiction and administration, in French, English or Russian.
We are a consulting company based in Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and Samara (Russia) and specialized in business development on the Russian market for foreign companies.
We focus specifically on Swiss and European SME with interests in B2B and industrial applications in aerospace, automotive, aviation, metal-processing industry, chemicals, agri-business and all industries presenting business potential for them.

Individuals and personal relations are important in any country but especially in Russia. In this regard, Swiss Center Samara has been investing in strong and diversified networks with operational work relationships, which can be activated depending on project requirements.
Our network includes diplomatic and political channels (Swiss and Russian Embassies and Consulates) federal and regional state bodies (Federal and Regional Douma, regional administrations…), national and interregional business associations (Delovaya Rossiya, Top-Manager Volga, Club of Directors of Samara…), R&D centers and large universities in the regions (medtech, nanotech, ICT…), banks and financial organizations, industrial groups and companies, distribution chains and retailers and personal relationships among bankers, entrepeneurs, company owners, directors and industry specialists (automotive, aerospace, aeronautics, chemicals, pharma…).
Mikhail Romanov is a graduate of Bauman Moscow State Technical University (1994) and Skolkovo School of Management (2016). He was the Chairman of the Board of the Regional National Trade Bank (Vnesheconombank Group), and has over 15 years of experience in corporate finance. Now, Mikhail is a successful entrepreneur and owns several companies, including the Pranafarm plant, the financial company «Leasing Center» and a network of pharmacies in Samara and Moscow. Expert ASI. Member of the Council on improving the investment climate in the Samara region under the Governor.
Mr. Larionov has a broad experience in the spheres of investments and corporate finance. He has extensive networks within the Volga region and is a respected entrepreneur in the Russian business community. Previously, Mr. Larionov has worked for the Central bank and he is now the regional operator of the federal holding Finam in Samara
Mr. Barbal has multiple and diversified experiences in production & manufacturing processes since he has managed production sites in industries such as medtech, electronics, solar energy and mechanics. With 10 years in economic promotion and 3 masters (mechanical engineering; innovation management; strategic management) Mr. Barbal brings strategic thinking and thorough industrial understanding to our projects.
