Swiss Advanced Vision (SAV-IOL SA) is a Swiss company founded in 2009 with the mission to revolutionize the vision post-cataract surgery with advanced innovative lenses using Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) technology.
The company, composed of thirteen dedicated employees, designs, manufactures, and distributes a new generation of intraocular lenses (IOLs) entirely in Switzerland with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and precision.
Its first product “InFo”, released in 2016 in the EU market, offers a clear vision at any distance while preserving an excellent resolution and light intensity. Thus, patients can live without glasses benefiting of a balanced light repartition to accommodate at best to different lifestyles such as reading, working on computer, watching TV, having social activities, driving, or hiking for instance.
InFo’s unique operational system involves the creation of an optical effect through light projection. Images are projected in the form of a luminous tube. No matter where the tube comes in contact with the retina, the result is a single, perfect image. This technology is the first to prevent the multiplication of focal points and all the undesirable side-effects that can result from this. Consequently, the brain is not confused and gets adapted almost instantly to the new vision.
On the 21st of April of this year, the company announced the availability of the intraocular lens (IOL) InFo Instant Focus© indicated for the treatment of cataract after removal of the crystalline lens, in a broader dioptric range. The IOL InFo was launched in January 2016 with a range of 15 to 24D (dyoptrine). The lens is now available with an extended range covering 5 to 30D - “Vision improvements are proven more and more every day; we have received excellent feedbacks from patients and surgeons. With this power range extension, more patients can now benefit from this unique implant” commented Max Boysset, CEO of SAV-IOL. Through its unique design, InFo remains the sole premium lens allowing a neat vision at all distances without any adverse visual effects such as ghost images, halos, and glares.
