Since 1 January 2018, the Eurasian Economic Union member states Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia have had a common customs law: the Eurasian Economic Union Customs Code. The creation of a customs law for all five member states of the Eurasian Economic Union gives the integrated communities the necessary legal framework in its dimension as a customs union. But what changes for the economic operators and customs authorities with this new customs law? And how advanced are its norms? In the following, this article will first introduce the previous progress of integration of the Eurasian countries and then give a brief overview of the most important amendments to the Customs Code.
